Another weekend, another riot dressed up as a protest with police held back to avoid scrutiny. As expected, the “No Kings” rallies that activists insisted were peaceful somehow managed to provide cover for arson, property destruction, and attacks on police. And just like clockwork, local media and Democrat politicians are doing Olympic-level gymnastics to avoid telling you the truth.
During the “No Kings” march, armed Antifa swarmed a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) facility in Tukwila. They assaulted cops with frozen water bottles and journalists, including Brandi Kruse, with mace. Tukwila Police and an ICE Special Response Team were forced to use tear gas to disperse the violent mob.
In downtown Seattle, so-called “demonstrators” set a Lime scooter on fire near 5th Avenue and Stewart Street, sending black smoke billowing. Antifa swarmed the area, dressed in black bloc, signs calling to abolish ICE, and chants that sounded more like threats than slogans. Windows were smashed, and people were aggressively confronting police and attacking journalists, including Cam Higby.
This wasn’t an isolated moment of chaos—it was a coordinated weekend of mayhem.
Eleven activists were arrested in Spokane. In Portland, radicals clashed with law enforcement outside an ICE facility. Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, Mayor Karen Bass downplayed rioting as a “limited” incident in a “small part of the city.” It’s like calling a fire a “minor warmth event.”
Seattle media downplayed or ignored violence
In Seattle, the media coverage was laughably selective.
KING 5 ignored the burning scooter and confrontations with police. Their report was somehow void of any mention of destruction.
The Seattle Times headline and story about the Tukwila mob suggested that police targeted innocent protesters in Tukwila during an ICE check-in demonstration. Reporter Nick Wagner did not bother to mention any violence committed by Antifa. The entirety of the coverage was about a peaceful and lawful gathering.
MyNorthwest was the only local news outlet to accurately describe the radicals as Antifa.
Democrats pretended all was peaceful
Let’s not forget who helped stoke this environment.
Attorney General Bob Ferguson praised the rallies, tweeting, “Tens of thousands of Washingtonians took to the streets yesterday… I am grateful to the Washingtonians who chose to make their voices heard peacefully at events across our state.” So, the arson in Seattle, the violent confrontations in Tukwila, and the clashes in Spokane were peaceful?
Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal—who has gone over two weeks pretending there has not been any violence—tweeted: “We have a Constitutional right to protest — regardless of what Donald Trump and his administration say.” Actually, you don’t have a Constitutional right to set property on fire or assault police officers. But her tweet wasn’t about the Constitution. It was about rallying the base and giving tacit approval to whatever chaos comes next, so long as it can be blamed on Trump.
‘No Kings’ was political theater at its most insufferable
These demonstrations aren’t about ICE or democracy. They’re about optics, disruption, and political theater.
Big, blue cities are filled with angry liberals incapable of coping with the loss of the White House. President Donald Trump broke these people and they’re still devastated that the nation wouldn’t give them four more years to tear our country down. They marched in the street to give themselves something to do on a Saturday when they didn’t have a transgender athlete to cheer on as “she” destroys the careers of hardworking young girls.
Meanwhile, Antifa did what they always do: use a peaceful rally as a cover for their violence. Police are held back from doing their jobs until it’s too late, and media outlets like The Seattle Times will pretend Antifa are the victims. It’s win-win for the part-time baristas cosplaying as fascist hunters.
You don’t light scooters on fire to support the Constitution. You do it to provoke a response. You break windows not to protect immigrants, but to force headlines, even if they conveniently leave out your part in the destruction.
Summer of Love 2.0
The Left thrives in this environment.
Democrats get to posture as the noble resistance while quietly tolerating—if not encouraging—intimidation and violence. And their media allies help by reporting just enough to seem credible, while conveniently omitting anything that might tarnish the progressive narrative. It’s the same playbook we saw in 2020. The same slogans. The same black-block agitators. The same denial.
And it’s the same result: chaos in Democrat-run cities while their elected leaders pretend everything is fine.
If you don’t acknowledge what’s happening now, you’re setting the stage for worse. You can’t fix a problem you refuse to name. So let’s name it: Political violence isn’t just being tolerated—it’s being normalized again. And until someone breaks the cycle, weekends like this one will keep repeating.
