Portland chaos continues as assault and harassment lead to arrests

Two people were arrested near the ICE facility Sunday night, according to Portland Police.
Around 8:15 p.m., a person approached officers claiming they had been harassed. After gathering evidence, police arrested 41-year-old Darnell Canfield on one count of harassment. He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
Later that evening, at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers responded to an assault near South Bancroft Street and South Moody Avenue. They found a victim with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested 36-year-old Thomas Allen on charges of fourth-degree assault and second-degree disorderly conduct. He was also booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, a total of 36 arrests have been made in the South Waterfront area since nightly protests began in early June, including the two on Sunday.
