Donald Trump Jr. says residents in overwhelmingly Democratic Washington, D.C., are quietly embracing President Trump’s federal crime crackdown—even as local leaders and Democrats in Congress call it unconstitutional. And he argues the same approach should come to progressive strongholds like Seattle and Portland.

Appearing on Newsmax, Trump Jr. mocked the outrage from the left: “93 percent [of DC] is hardened leftist. But they’re like, ‘No, this is great. I feel safe. This is a wonderful thing. Let’s do this.’ Maybe we should roll out the tour to Portland, Seattle, you know, the other what we call craphole cities of the country—not because they’re crapholes, but because Democrats made them so.”

Both Seattle and Portland continue to struggle with open-air drug use, surging homelessness, and rising concerns over public safety. Yet, much like D.C. residents quietly backing the crackdown, surveys have shown that voters in the Northwest want tougher enforcement—even if their leaders refuse to deliver it.

Trump delivered results in D.C.

Since taking control of D.C.’s police and deploying federal agents, authorities report more than 600 arrests, including over 250 suspected illegal immigrants. They’ve seized dozens of illegal firearms and significant amounts of narcotics. President Trump, visiting a Park Police facility Thursday, vowed D.C. would soon be “spotless” and “the best in the world.”

D.C.’s mayor and attorney general are suing to stop the operation, insisting crime is already low. Civil rights groups claim immigrant communities are being unfairly targeted. But their claims are demonstrably false. And on the streets, Trump Jr. points out, residents are praising the results.
